Tiger football streaming at www.olivet.eduPosted by tower on Fri, 08/27/2010 - 2:58pmStarting this fall, fans of Olivet Nazarene University football will be able to stream live play-by-play online at www.olivet.edu. The at-home experience will be further developed with live video streams of home games and select away games and up-to-the-minute stats running alongside the games. “With new technologies that have developed, we are able to enhance what viewers will be able to see online,” explains Justin Knight, station manager for shine.fm. Fans of Olivet’s men’s basketball can look forward to the same experience this winter. Video streams of other sports will be added when available as the year goes along, including volleyball this fall and women’s basketball this winter. “With the ability to video stream our sports online we are making major strides forward in providing coverage to our alumni and friends,” says Gary Griffin, director of alumni and university relations, and longtime play-by-play announcer. For years, the University’s radio station, shine.fm, has provided play-by-play for Olivet football and men’s basketball. But with a quickly growing listenership throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, the radio station has focused on providing listeners with what they desire: positive, hit music. “Streaming events online allows for shine.fm to continue with its mission and to expand on its success,” says Griffin, “while providing the opportunity for Olivet athletics to be heard and seen.” The Tigers kick off their football season Saturday, August 28, at West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
